Want to make work experience provide real benefits to both the pupil and employer?

Many work experiences fail to meet up to the expectation of both the pupil and the employer. which can have a negative impact on everyone involved. The Schools e-Academy has been working with Nottingham Education Business Alliance (NEBA) to develop a solution that will enhance the experience and ensure everyone benefits from the process. We’ve designed a Virtual Work Experience Tool that learners can undertake online to help prepare them for their work experience and help provide them with a number of structured tasks that they can do whilst they are there. This helps ensure that the pupil gains real knowledge whilst at the company and the company staff don’t have to run around thinking of thinks to keep the pupil occupied.

Initially designed to support work experience within the 14 – 19 Year Diploma we have extended the solution into a generic tool for any work experience.

The tool allows the learner to explore a typical business and seek out different tasks for their real work experience. Along the way they are given tips and hints and offered additional training on topics such as fire safety and health and safety.
